American Friends of Canadian Conservation (American Friends) is increasing the impact of its work and partnerships by selecting priority geographies in which to focus its efforts.

Our Geographic Focus Areas will share the following characteristics:

  • Conservation priority for high natural values
  • Capable and collaborative Canadian partner
  • Concentration of ownership or key properties controlled by US taxpayers
  • Committed funders from the US and Canada that support protection of important land and water resources shared by our two countries

American Friends needs your help to identify the ideal Geographic Focus Areas. Some may be relatively small, for example a significant wetland. Others could be extensive, such as the watershed of a specific estuary. Thank you for your input about the places we can protect together.
